If you were one in a million people that just so happened to miss out on Monday night’s televised glory, the 58th Annual Grammy’s were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Since the first Award Show 5 fifty-seven years ago in 1959, the Grammy’s have been nothing less of spectacular performances, extraordinary dedications and tributes, and shocking wins. This year the lineup of performances included: Justin Bieber, Adele and her new hit single “Hello”, Pitbull, Taylor Swift and upcoming artists, Tori Kelley and James Blake took the stage this year.
This year was set apart from the long history of Grammy successes through the tributes to “MusiCares Person of the Year”, Lionel Richie. Stars like Demi Lovato and John Legend recreated his most famous works and songs. The singer/ songwriter was caught with a radiant smile and humorous attitude throughout the awards show. Some important titles that were stolen this year include: Best New Artist (Meghan Trainor), Song of the Year (Ed Sheehan’s “Thinking out Loud”), Best Rap Song ( Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright”), and Best Pop Vocal Album (Taylor Swift, 1989). All in all, the Grammy’s were a success; nothing less than expected. So if you’ve had the misfortune of missing out on all of this star-studded fun, hit play on the best recording in your DVR. You won’t regret it.
